Many people are averse to visiting Las Vegas, Nevada because they think of it as just a gambling destination. Hence, they never think of making a trip there for the purpose of enjoying other fun activities. Las Vegas is full of wonderful places to visit that are not associated with gambling in any way. Here are a few of Las Vegas tourist spots:

Museum and galleries

History and Art lovers will find lots of places to visit in Las Vegas. The Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art is one of these venues, where you can see amazing art pieces and sculptures. In the midst of admiring the pieces at the Gallery, visitors can enjoy a sumptuous gourmet cuisine at the Picasso Restaurant. It is named the Picasso Restaurant because it has an extensive collection of art by Picasso for diners to enjoy looking at as they eat. This place holds great exhibitions from international museums and private collections, as well.

Educational exhibitions

There are some exhibitions that offer a good chance for people to learn something and are ideal for children. One of these is the Bodies – The Exhibition. This exhibition offers an intricate 3 –D view of the human body. There are real human bodies fully preserved with their internal organs intact for visitors to see. These are stored in nine rooms with each dedicated to different parts of the body. There is even a section for fetal exhibitions. This is a great place for curious individuals that are interested in the human form and its functions.

Car collections

This is a great place for car enthusiasts where they showcase at least 300 cars. These include classic cars, muscle and race cars such as Ferraris, Volkswagen Beetles, military vehicles and Corvettes among others. The exhibition keeps changing so that repeat visitors are frequently treated to a new exhibition. Car lovers can even buy a car here if they find one that captures their fancy.

Natural history Museum

Nature lovers can visit the Natural History museum to see life like replicas of marine life and wildlife life as well as, prehistoric exhibitions. They can also visit the Nevada State Museum for a look at exhibits showing Nevada’s Geology, fossils, desert wildlife and aspect of Nevada’s mining and railroad history.

The Discovery Children’s Museum is another nice place to visit as a family. It’s full of interactive science, art and culture exhibits that will help you and your child learn various things in a fun setting. From Water World to Fantasy Festival, Toddler World and other exhibitions, the focus is to teach the children something even as they enjoy the place.

Tours

A visit to Las Vegas is not complete without visiting the Valley of Fire. This is magical desert scenery made from red rock that has been sculpted through time by the elements. It’s a favorite with hikers and campers and has been featured in movies such as Total Recall and Star Trek.

Hoover Dam is another attraction that is a suitable place to do some rafting. It gives visitors an opportunity to swim in the Colorado River, and enjoy some hot water springs along the way. There is also some wildlife to see along the way, and if you want some time at the beach, you can always visit Willow Beach.
